AI features: what they do, and what they never do
Plain-language answers about how your provider may use AI tools on Sefton.

Does Sefton use AI in my care?
Your provider may use automated (AI) tools to help with paperwork — for example, to draft visit notes from your telehealth session, transcribe audio, suggest billing codes, or provide real-time translation. These tools help with documentation; they do not make decisions about your care.
Does the AI make medical decisions?
No. The AI provides administrative support only. It does not diagnose, treat, or decide anything about your care. Your provider reviews everything and is responsible for your notes and decisions.
Is my information used to train AI models?
No. We do not use your information to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI or machine-learning model. This is a contractual, non-waivable commitment — not just a policy. We also do not sell your information.
Is my telehealth session recorded?
Only with your consent. Before your visit you can choose whether to allow recording and transcription, automated documentation, and translation — each with its own consent (declining recording declines the others too). You can decline recording and still receive care where it is clinically appropriate, and you can withdraw consent for future sessions at any time.
What happens to the recording afterward?
Recordings are kept only as long as needed. Depending on your provider’s settings, the audio may be deleted once your provider finalizes the visit note. The note your provider reviews and signs — not the raw recording — is your medical record.
Can I have a human interpreter instead?
Yes. You have the right to a qualified interpreter provided by your provider at no cost to you — just ask, before or during any session. Machine translation is not a certified medical interpreter, can contain errors, and is offered only as an additional convenience, never as a substitute for a qualified interpreter.
Who is responsible for my privacy?
Your provider is the covered entity responsible for your records and issues its own Notice of Privacy Practices. Sefton Health, Inc. operates the platform as your provider’s business associate. To exercise your privacy rights, contact your provider.
