Appointment requests

How families request a visit from the portal, where requests appear, and how to accept, propose a new time, or decline.

Sefton Editorial · Reviewed by Sefton Product ·

Families request visits from the portal’s Appointments tab (Request appointment: requested date, start and end time, appointment type, reason, preferred contact). Each request reaches you in two places: the Sessions action queue and the Appointment Requests page.

Reviewing a request

The request shows who asked, the preferred window (morning, afternoon, evening, or exact times), the reason for the visit in the family’s words (translated if they wrote in another language), and how they prefer to be contacted.

  • Accept opens Book Appointment prefilled. Choose the provider and duration and save.
  • Propose a different time sends a message to the family’s portal thread with the alternative.
  • Decline closes the request with an optional note.

What the family sees

The request’s status updates in their Appointments tab, and the booked visit appears on their dashboard under Next appointment with a Join button for telehealth.
