Messaging and notifications
Notifications and alerts
The notification bell, the Notifications page, revenue opportunity alerts, and how to choose what reaches you by email or SMS.
The bell
The bell in the header counts unread notifications; the Notifications page lists them: new messages, appointment requests, notes awaiting co-sign, claims needing correction, denials with deadlines, authorizations expiring, payments posted, and system announcements.
Revenue opportunities
A second stream, Revenue Opportunities, surfaces patterns from your own data: a missing modifier that a payer usually pays, an unbilled signed note, a payer whose turnaround slipped. Each item opens the screen where you act on it.

Preferences
Settings > Notifications: choose which categories notify you, and whether email or SMS alerts are sent. Alerts by email and SMS are generic by design.
Announcements
Practice-wide announcements from your admin, and system announcements from Sefton, appear here and on the Sessions view until dismissed or expired. See Announcements and team communications.
Frequently asked questions
Do notifications ever contain patient information?
In-app notifications can name the patient because you are signed in. Email and SMS alerts are generic and tell you to open Sefton.
