Getting started

Create your account

Register as a provider, let the NPPES directory prefill your details, meet the password rules, sign the BAA, and finish the four onboarding steps.

Sefton Editorial · Reviewed by Sefton Product ·

Sefton accounts are provider accounts: the person who signs up owns the practice workspace and invites everyone else. Patients and families never register themselves; they arrive through an invitation from you (see Invite a patient to the portal).

The registration form

Open sefton.health/register.

  1. NPPES directory prefill. Type your 10-digit NPI and Sefton looks you up in the national provider directory to prefill your name and credentials. You can hide the lookup and type everything by hand.
  2. Name and email. Use the email you want practice notifications sent to. It is also your sign-in.
  3. Password. At least 8 characters, one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, one special character. Confirm it.
  4. Agreements. Tick the box to accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, then create the account.

The four onboarding steps

After the first sign-in Sefton runs a short guided setup:

  • Provider Verification. Confirm your credentials and professional details (license, specialty, taxonomy).
  • Practice Setup. Practice name, address, phone, NPI, tax ID, and type. Details in Practice setup.
  • Compliance and Agreements. Review and sign the Business Associate Agreement and the digital-signature agreement. Sefton Health, Inc. is the business associate; your practice is the covered entity.
  • Welcome. You land on the Sessions day view with the trial running.

Sign-in and recovery

  • Sign in at sefton.health/login. New here? The sign-in card has a Create Account link; families use the Patient or family link to reach the portal.
  • Forgot password sends a reset email. The button in that email opens the reset form; after a successful reset your password expiry clock restarts.
  • If sign-in says your password has expired, use Forgot password. If it says the account is locked, wait for the lock to lift; if you are still blocked, open a support ticket (see Team accounts and sign-in problems).

Next

Turn on two-factor authentication (Security, 2FA, and passkeys), then import your clients.
